Earlier today, Marca reported ‘agreement imminent’ for Real Madrid star Raphaël Varane to join Manchester United.

These claims are now backed up by Deportes Cuatro as they state the defender’s move to Old Trafford is ‘imminent’ and his signing for the Red Devils is ‘matter of hours, days at most’.

It’s claimed the 28-year-old found an agreement with the English club last week and he did it in such a way that he left Los Blancos to make a final decision on whether or not to accept his sale.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side prefer to sell the centre-back and make money in order to not let him leave for free in 2022, when his contract expires.

After the France international and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reached an agreement, the two clubs ‘intensified’ talks during the weekend.

Deportes Cuatro state all three parties must now fill the paperwork and the deal could be made official in the ‘coming hours’ and if not, ‘days at most’.

It’s said the La Liga side have been able to close the operation for €50m and this money would be used to help sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé in August.

Meanwhile, Spanish journalist Sergio Quirante took to Twitter to report Varane, who was expected to train from 10am today, was the only player missing from the training session.

Update: Quirante is now reporting the former Lens man has been spotted training with his Real Madrid teammates.
