With the Turkish and the Brazilian press both reporting West Bromwich Albion’s agreement with Fenerbahce for the transfer of Josef de Souza, it was pretty strange to see the player not changing clubs.

The reports claimed he was moving on a deal of around €10m, as the bid was accepted after the player even cried asking the Fenerbahce president to get it done.

At first, the deal even sounded spoiled because West Brom ended up signing Grzegorz Krychowiak from Paris Saint Germain on a one-year loan deal. But Globo Esporte now has another reason for it.

The website claims that Souza and West Brom couldn’t agree the personal terms for the move to happen. There were issues coming from both sides.

It’s claimed that Souza had demands not accepted by West Brom, and the club also had contract clauses which did not please the player and his representatives.

So despite the midfielder’s excitement to play in the Premier League, it seems he will have to wait at least one more year to have this chance again.

This claims from Brazil on what went wrong for West Brom match earlier claims from Turkey.
