There’s claims all over Europe about West Ham making moves to sign players.
That’s either because clubs, agents and the media have seen an opportunity to push footballers towards the Hammers, or it’s because the Premier League side are genuinely trying to pull off some impressive business this summer.
One of Thursday’s claims came from Spain, and it was that West Ham had sent an official to Barcelona to try and find out the conditions to sign Rafinha. The player was said to be in no hurry to decide his future and any interest from the London club was placed to one side, but not completely dismissed.
That claim came from Catalan newspaper Sport, who continue it in their newspaper on Thursday. The same claims are gone over and there’s not really anything to add.
What is new is the other Catalan sport daily, Mundo Deportivo, backing the interest up. A ‘representative’ of West Ham has made an ‘approach’ but Rafinha has ‘rejected’ it… but only ‘for the time being’.
He wants to see if Inter Milan can get together the money to sign him permanently, after he spent a loan period there last season. A meeting is scheduled next week, but Inter need funds.
Perhaps this is all a West Ham ploy to panic Inter and get them to accept a lower fee for Joao Mario.
