Leonardo Gabbanini left Tottenham Hotspur as the club’s chief scout in the middle of the 2023/24 season.

He has already held similar roles at Watford and Udinese and had arrived at the London giants when Fabio Paratici was still at the club.

Even though Gabbanini has officially left Tottenham, it seems as if he is still working with the club in some capacity.

Gianluca di Marzio‘s website carries an extensive article about the Italian and within that, it is mentioned that Gabbanini is still ‘working in very close contact’ with CEO Daniel Levy and Tottenham.

In what is an article that appears to heavily advertise the ex-Watford chief scout’s availability, praise is heaped on for his ability to use the ‘Moneyball’ method, which has helped Spurs with multiple signings over the past couple of seasons.

Even though he is said to be still somewhat working with Tottenham, he remains without a formal job. The report states that there has been interest from three Premier League clubs and approaches have also been made by Atalanta and Fiorentina.

There is also interest from Saudi Arabia, with a return to Italy described as a rather ‘uphill’ possibility.
