Juventus could easily afford Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap in the January transfer window, and he would jump at the opportunity to joint the Italian giants.

That’s according to scout Michele Fratini, via Tutto Juve, who believes the Ipswich Town star could be an ideal signing for Juventus as they look for a deputy for Dusan Vlahovic.

Delap has been earning rave reviews for Ipswich this season after joining the newly promoted side in a €17.75m deal in the summer.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a key player since that point, bagging six goals and one assist in 11 Premier League games so far, a tally that already has him ahead of the likes of Luis Diaz, Ollie Watkins and Alexander Isak in the scoring charts and joint seventh overall.

Those performances have reportedly not gone unnoticed and a report this week stated that Juventus had sent officials to watch him in person. In fact, they were just one of several sides potentially eyeing up an effort to take him from Ipswich.

Fratini would certainly back that move if it happens and believes Juventus have the fund to really test the idea in the January transfer window.

“Guardiola himself wanted to keep him, but he was also the one who pushed for the sale, and he was paid a significant sum. Today he is proving to be worth all the money invested,” he said.

“With all due respect to Ipswich Town, but we are talking about Juventus here and he is eager to win. In addition to being perfect for the role of deputy Vlahovic, because the Serbian cannot play them all, he is the ideal profile for how Thiago Motta plays. Milan were interested in him to replace Giroud last year and Fiorentina, this season, also asked for information.

“Juve have already shown us that they can spend in January for a striker, then here we are not talking about €80m as in the case of Vlahovic.

“The real department to strengthen is the attack, given that the team has scored less than teams that do not have to win the championship. Then in England they are always very good at fishing and the Bianconeri could have some interesting counterparts.”
