Rangers face RB Leipzig in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final this week.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side will be travelling to Germany, and Bild say 7,000 Rangers fans will also be making the trip. Those fans aren’t just arriving from Glasgow, with the German newspaper pointing out they’ll be travelling from around the world, such is the Rangers support.

Bild call it a ‘Scottish Invasion’ and say that despite Rangers only being allocated 2,400 for the match, supporters have been working to find other ways to get their hands on tickets.

Interestingly, it’s explained that the Ibrox club have a long standing friendship with HSV, and Hamburg fans have been helping to purchase tickets, because it’s much easier to do so from an address in Germany.

As many as 500 fans are expected to travel from Hamburg to Leipzig for the match.

Rangers supporters have also been getting help with travel arrangements from their HSV friends. It’s not yet clear how strict the stance will be on checking tickets and matching them via other ID.
