Paris Saint-Germain star João Neves insists they have a plan for Liverpool and Mohamed Salah, despite his ‘scary numbers’ this season.

TNT Sports Brasil have a brief interview with the midfielder today ahead of the two sides meeting gin the last 16 in the Champions League tomorrow.

The French side host Arne Slot’s side in the first leg of their last 16 double header tomorrow, with Luis Enrique’s side very much the underdogs.

That’s because Liverpool are currently enjoying a superb first season under Slot’s leadership, leading the Premier League by 13 points and qualifying for the clash with PSG after topping the new league format that’s replaced the group stages in the Champions League.

Mohamed Salah has been key to that, with the Egyptian currently the leading star in European football.

He has 30 goals and 22 assists in 39 games to date, with three goals and four assists in seven games in the Champions League and 25 goals and 17 assists in 28 games in the Premier League.

He will be pivotal to Liverpool seeing off PSG in this last 16 clash, but Neves insists they have a plan in place to deal with the Egyptian and the threat he offers.

“These are scary numbers; it is good to have these numbers. As a colleague, I am happy for him,” he said.

“But as I have said many times, football is a team sport, not an individual sport. I think that if we put into practice what we have been doing, it will be easier to achieve victory, and that is what we are going to do tomorrow.”
