If Hamburg have got anything to do with it, then Pierre-Michel Lasogga will be a Leeds United player soon.
Hamburg are very keen to offload the player and as much of his big wages as they can. Lasogga isn’t part of the manager’s plans ahead of the new season, and even though he’s carrying a slight injury, that’s not thought to be the only reason he is isn’t training with the group.
Hamburger Abendblatt report in their Saturday edition that Lasogga is on the verge of a transfer to Leeds United, he currently ‘stands before’ the transfer happening.
He’s out of the Hamburg set-up, not part of the plans, and is being given every possible hitn that a move is the best solution for everyone involved.
HSV want a new start, and Lasogga isn’t part of that.
The German regional newspaper don’t expect rapid developments on the Leeds United switch, and add ‘a quick conclusion of the transfer is not to expected’.
If it’s assumed that Leeds United are keen, and this hasn’t all been built on the hope of Hamburg, then the only way a deal could now fail is Lasogga snubbing it.
The striker’s girlfriend is due to give birth at the beginning of September, and it’s been suggested elsewhere in the German media the couple may think a move to Leeds is too much disruption at such a time.
Meanwhile, HSV are doing their best to remove any exit doubts Lasogga has. He’s not wanted.
