Heracles youngster Giacomo Quagliata has shared his delight that Tottenham were one of several sides to be in attendance for Italy Under 21’s clash with Romania.
Yesterday we covered a report from Italy that Tottenham and various other clubs had all sent officials to watch Italy’s clash with Romania.
Now, the report made no mention of who they were there to watch or anything of that nature, just that someone would be in the stands.
Given the wealth of talent coming out of Italy of late, the scouts in attendance could have been there to watch anyone, but we speculated that young striker Lorenzo Lucca could be one of the men Spurs were taking a look at.
That would make a ton of sense given his form this season, the fact that Fabio Paratici is now heading up transfers at the club, and they might need to start planning for life without Harry Kane.
Anyway, Italy ended up winning the game 4-2 courtesy of a hattrick from Simone Canestrelli, and a goal from Samuele Mulattieri, and the man who provided the assist for the latter was Quagliata, who was delighted Tottenham were there to see it.
“These are emotions that are not easy to explain in words. I was already happy for the call-up, now I hope I played my best for the chance given to me by coach Nicolato,” he told Tuttomercatoweb.
“I hope so; I’m very confident, also because right after the match I had good feelings. I really hope there will be a next time; I will always give my best to make this dream come true.
“When we went out on the pitch, I didn’t know about the presence of representatives of the teams mentioned, but after learning about it at the end of the match, it was doubly satisfying.”
