Facundo Pellistri needing a loan move away from Manchester United is no surprise and there’s a good chance it was part of the plan when the player arrived from Penarol in October.
Having turned 20-years-of-age in December, the youngster has plenty of time ahead of him to succeed at Old Trafford, so getting further experience in senior football elsewhere makes sense.
The player’s agent Edgardo Lasalvia this week confirmed that’s the plan, telling the Spanish media: “We’re working on that, surely Spain is the destination.”
Since then, Celta Vigo and Almeria have been linked, and there’s now further claims from Italy.
Calciomercato have an exclusive stating Sassuolo have made efforts to find out the player’s situation. The Serie A club have ‘made polls’, presumably to learn the conditions for a loan and whether it would appeal to the player.
The article accepts that Spain remains the ‘most likely’ destination, and they back up Celta Vigo and Almeria interest, and then add Real Betis and Real Sociedad. Club Brugge are also presented as being keen.
Given the agent’s comments it would be a surprise if Pellistri was to swap Manchester United for Sassuolo instead, but it appears the option may be there.
