According to CalcioNapoli24.it, Napoli are nowhere close to finding a solution for Maurizio Sarri.
He is a target for Chelsea as the FA Cup winners want Sarri to replace Antonio Conte, who has one year left on his contract.
The Blues have already started their preseason training and the situation is becoming farcical.
For them to hire Sarri as their new manager, they have to sort out his contractual situation with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who is unwilling to ‘make any discounts’ for anyone.
Sarri was hoping that Chelsea would be able to help him solve his situation at Napoli. Therefore, he had drawn a list of transfer targets and wanted the Premier League club to work on landing them this summer.
The report claims De Laurentiis was unhappy with Sarri, after his transfer targets for the English club were leaked. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is taking in charge to ‘unblock the situation’ that has been dragging on for a while.
Chelsea have a month to assemble a new squad before the start of their first league fixture against Huddersfield Town on August 11th.
