That Barcelona’s friendly media is increasingly upset about Sandro, and his impending move to Everton, will be of great amusement to the Madrid leaning sport media in Spain.
Therefore, one may feel they’d do anything possible to encourage it, to turn the screw a little further, and wind their Catalan cousins up a little more. It goes on every week, sometimes daily, with snipes being sent each way.
With that in mind, it’s no surprise to see Marca suggest Real Madrid are considering Sandro. Although it’s part of an article saying Madrid are looking at players impressing at the U21s, it seems an excuse just to link the Everton target to Madrid.
Sandro hasn’t particularly impressed at the U21 tournament, and even in the event of selling Alvaro Morata, Madrid would either buy a senior player or promote Borja Mayoral, who is also at the Euros with Spain.
It’s already being covered in the Catalan media, which is probably the entire point. The only way Everton would have to worry is if Real Madrid decided to go through with it and try and sign Sandro, all part of what could be the ultimate Catalan wind-up.
