Pierre-Michel Lasogga has agreed to join Leeds United after a period of reflection for all involved.

Lasogga, according to the German media, has had repeated doubts about a move to Leeds United, and it was reported his trip to Yorkshire this week was all part of making his mind up.

That seemed quite strange, given he’s been already, and Germany’s Kicker said he wasn’t travelling to help him think, but to advance the transfer. It’s probably worth giving the player the benefit of the doubt, and siding with Kicker.

The well informed German magazine state Hamburg will continue to pay a portion of the striker’s wages.

Crucially, that’s the same line taken by Hamburger Abendblatt who say HSV will continue to pay a ‘large portion’ of Lasogga’s wages during the year long loan deal.

The same newspaper reported two weeks ago that Leeds United were looking for a ‘bargain’ and only wanted to pay around €900k of the player’s wages.

Hamburger Morgenpost say the German club will continue to pay around half of Lasogga’s wages.

There’s no mention of a loan fee whatsoever, and there hasn’t been previously in Germany.

Hamburg have already announced the loan and Leeds United will now be dreaming up ways to present Lasogga to his new adoring public.
