Earlier today we covered claims from Brazil which stated that after Celtic and Internacional held further transfer talks this week, the two clubs had agreed on the permanent transfer of Bernabei.
Now Globo Esporte, perhaps the best source in Brazil, is covering the situation and it’s all presented as a done deal between Celtic and Internacional.
Globoe Esporte state ‘the saga has come to an end’. Internacional have agreed to buy the left-back from the Glasgow club for an initial payment of €4.5m, plus a potential further €500k in bonus payments depending on how Bernabei does.
The 24-year-old will sign a three year contract with the Brazilian club after personal terms were also agreed between the relevant parties.
As explained by Globo Esporte, there’s been months of negotiations between Celtic and Internacional, trying to find an agreement on the transfer fee.
With it potentially reaching €5m, that’s a big investment for the South American club and they must have high hopes for Bernabei’s future.
The player has been on vacation waiting for Celtic to agree his exit, and is now expected back at Internacional.
