For a while now, Rodrigo De Paul has been linked with a move to Leeds United.
The midfielder has been looking for a way out from Udinese to further his career for some time now, but the Serie A side, perhaps understandably, only want to let him leave for a high fee, believed to be upwards of €35m.
In the meantime, Liverpool also joined the chase, with the Reds eventually going to need to replace Georginio Wijnaldum, who looks set to leave Anfield on a free next month.
Both the Merseyside club and Marcelo Bielsa’s side have found themselves placed in the list of suitors for De Paul multiple times, and Il Gazzettino continue the tradition on Thursday.
Relayed by Udinese Blog, the newspaper explain that while Napoli want to sign the Argentine midfielder, they need to be wary of the interest from abroad.
That’s where Liverpool and Leeds come in, with it said ‘there are the eyes of’ both clubs, as well as those of Atlético Madrid, staring down at the player.
In short, ‘the roundtable to decide the fate’ of the Udinese star is edging ‘ever closer’, especially with the end of the Serie A season just around the corner.
