Late on Tuesday evening Argentina will face Bolivia in a World Cup Qualifier. Ramiro Funes Mori is expected to start as Edgardo Bauza shuffles his pack.

Bolivia’s qualification hopes are out of sight, and Argentina are well placed but the battle for the top five places in South America’s qualifying group is tight and Bauza needs a result.

Usually an Everton player taking part in an international a few days before a Premier League match wouldn’t be a great concern for Koeman, but this is slightly different. Argentina are playing away in La Paz, with an altitude so high that it’s not unusual for players to take oxygen during the match.

In Argentina the altitude angle is big news, with it being pointed out that in previous matches players could ‘barely walk’ such was the impact of the game at such a height.

With the long flight back to England coming after such a match, Koeman will naturally be concerned about what state Funes Mori arrives in. Everton face Liverpool on Saturday lunchtime and Koeman will be crossing his fingers for no more bad news during the current international break.
