The possibility of Thibaut Courtois signing for Real Madrid in the summer is a big talking point in Spain.

The Spanish giants are keen on signing the Belgian international after their transfer ban was reduced to one transfer window, which means they’re free to sign players in the summer.

Reports in Spain, which we covered on Thursday, claim Real Madrid have already initiated talks with Courtois’ representatives, and the player is also interested in returning to Spain.

According to a report in Friday’s Marca, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich doesn’t intend to make it easy for Courtois to leave Chelsea.

Marca say Abramovich signed Courtois keeping his potential in mind, and it seems Real Madrid have some convincing to do.

As reported earlier, Courtois has already informed his friends about his desire to sign for Real Madrid, but Chelsea won’t budge easily to his requests.

It’s not an ideal situation for Antonio Conte, who is preparing for a title challenge in his debut season in England, and Chelsea would want to put these rumours to bed quickly.
