Earlier on Monday, we covered claims from Italy which stated multiple Italian clubs are keen on signing Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli.
Lazio, AS Roma and Juventus were all credited with interest, and now Brighton & Hove Albion have been brought into the picture, thanks to their manager Roberto de Zerbi.
Empoli signed Vicario in summer 2021 on a loan contract which had a purchase clause. Impressed with the goalkeeper, they used that clause a year later and secured the signing permanently.
They’re already being linked with potential replacements, including Elia Caprile, who moved from Leeds United to Bari in the summer, and it appears Vicario may not be staying where he is for long.
DirettaGoal report De Zerbi is targeting the 26-year-old goalkeeper. He’d presumably arrive as a squad player and to provide competition and cover.
It’s explained the Brighton manager is currently searching the transfer market for potential recruits, and Vicario is one of the names on his list.
