Liverpool and Manchester United are chasing Club Atlético Lanús’ Julio Soler, according to Soy del Millo.

River Plate want to sign the left-back but have to be wary of the two Premier League giants.

Liverpool and Manchester United are reporteldy both ‘fighting’ for the 19-year-old and River Plate ‘must beat’ them to secure his services.

The Argentina U23 international came up through the ranks of Lanús’ youth system and made his way into their first team in 2022. Since then, he made 58 appearances in all competitions of which 43 are from this year.

It’s claimed the two English clubs are willing to pay around $16.5m [€15.8m] for the teenager.

River Plate will find it difficult to compete with Liverpool and Manchester United but can give him more playing time.

Arne Slot’s side are looking at the youngster as a backup for Andrew Robertson, but the report hasn’t taken into account about Konstantinos Tsimikas.

Manchester United are close to agreeing a deal with Cerro Porteño for left-back Diego León to arrive at Old Trafford next summer. Taking this account, the Red Devils may prefer to sign an experienced player instead of another youngster like Soler.
