Last week, UOL reported Fulham have made a fresh attempt to sign Fluminense’s André Trindade and have reopened talks for a potential deal in the winter market.
Atlético Madrid are also interested in signing the Fulham target, according to the latest report from AS.
Los Rojiblancos are aiming to bolster their midfield this month and are looking at several options, including the 22-year-old.
The Brazilian’s name has been on the table at Atlético since last summer, but the deal is complicated for them in January due to Fluminense’s asking price.
Fulham aren’t helping matters either.
André’s deal lasts until December 2026 and sources close to the operation have told AS the South American club are requesting close to €35m, including bonuses.
Atlético have held talks with Fluminense but haven’t yet made an official offer. They have a good relationship with the player’s agent, Carlos Leite, and his partner, Jorge Mendes, and this could help in a potential deal.
AS say a loan with a purchase obligation could be the final formula, but the price to make the deal permanent could rise to €45-50m next summer.
Marco Silva’s side are seen as the ‘rival’.
It’s said Fulham are leading the contenders from England and are the club to have ‘shown most interest’ in signing André. However, it’s claimed they haven’t tabled an official yet, which fits in with the more reliable claims from Brazil last week.
