Sporx claim Fenerbahce have offered Besiktas a chance to sign Leicester City loanee Islam Slimani but the Black Eagles have rejected the proposal, insisitng they aren’t looking to sign a striker this transfer window.
It’s reported Sliamni has been given permission to speak to other clubs, but Besiktas aren’t interested in the forward.
Yesterday Slimani was left out of Fenerbahce’s squad against Malatyaspor and club manager Ersun Yanal confirmed the player can leave the Turkish giants before the transfer deadline: “It’s obvious Slimani’s ties with Fenerbahce have weakened. Love him or hate him, he was the most expensive signing of Leicester City’s history but for some reason, he didn’t make it here. We allowed him to speak with other clubs, same for Diego Reyes also.”
Since arriving at Fenerbahce on loan from Leicester City in the last transfer window, Slimani has struggled for form.
The Algeria international has scored just one league goal in fourteen appearances and subsequently the Super Lig club have been trying to offload him throughout this window.
Leicester City rejected an approach to cancel the loan and take their player back, and since then the Yellow Canaries have been trying to find a club which will take him until the end of the season.
