Newcastle United have Juventus’ Dean Huijsen on their agenda for the summer window.

Earlier this month, Gazzetta dello Sport said the Magpies are pressing to sign the 19-year-old, who spent this year on loan at AS Roma.

The defender featured regularly for the Serie A side and his form has seen Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund take notice.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, several clubs have made approaches to try to sign the centre-back, including the Bundesliga side.

The Tyneside club are also keen on the Spain U21 international and it’s claimed BVB ‘have to be careful of competition’ from Newcastle to secure his services. In other words,  Eddie Howe’s side could cause concern to the German club.

Recent claims in the English press had stated both Newcastle and Liverpool are chasing the youngster.

This is relayed by Calciomercato, who then give their own information about Dortmund’s interest in Huijsen. They further add the Old Lady need at least €25-30m to part ways with him.

BVB can reach Juve’s request, but there’s no mention of Newcastle’s stance. Last month, we covered claims from Italy that the Premier League side would have no problem paying €30m to the Turin club for Huijsen.
