Djurgårdens IF youngster Lucas Bergvall has been regularly linked to several European clubs, but Manchester City aren’t included in this list.
Barcelona are keen on securing a deal for the 17-year-old and this has been repeated on several occasions in the Catalan media.
A fresh report from Mundo Deportivo has dragged Manchester City into the mix, mainly because of a question put to the midfielder.
Although there’s been no strong reports of interest from Pep Guardiola’s side, Bergvall was asked for his preference between Manchester City and the Catalan club.
Mundo then state the teenager has ‘put the Blaugrana above Manchester City’. They add Barca’s negotiations are already underway to sign the Sweden international, even though his club are putting pressure on him to accept a move to Eintracht Frankfurt.
That’s because the Spanish giants have offered €6m, €4m less than the one proposed by the German club.
The rising star made 28 appearances for Djurgårdens last year, managing three goals and an assist in the process.
Bergvall’s fine displays have not only drawn the attention of other clubs, but also helped him make his debut for Sweden in a friendly tie against Estonia earlier this month.
