Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte this week features an interview with Everton star Richarlison. The Toffees’ striker was invited by former player Caio Ribeiro to have a chat about his season in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old claimed to be upset due to the club’s disappointing campaign in the league, but is still happy with his individual performances.
“I evolved a lot here at Everton, so much that I managed to make it to the national team. I believe it was one of my greatest achievements,” Richarlison told Globo Esporte.
“So I just have to evolve. Now with the arrival of Ancelotti I will grow even more. He’s a guy who talks to me a lot on a daily basis. So now it’s about evolving and keeping scoring goals and helping my team.”
Richarlison was also quizzed about his future at Everton. Caio Ribeiro mentioned that he’s been linked to Barcelona and other European giants, then asked him if he should continue with the Toffees for next season.
The player claims there’s a special request from Carlo Ancelotti for him to stay, but still couldn’t promise that he would turn down big offers should they arrive this summer.
“Everything has been talked about. He’s already told me he’s counting on me for another season. He asked me to hold on a little. But it all depends. If a good proposal arrives, we sit down and talk. It’s part of football. We are still talking about these details, sorting it out. He’s bringing in new players. And then let’s sit down and talk. But I think I can hold on for another season.”
Richarlison had 15 goals and four assists in 41 appearances for Everton this season. In terms of scoring, this was his best season in England since joining Watford back in 2017.
In other recent interviews with the Brazilian media, the player claimed he rejected offers from Barcelona and Manchester United back in January. So let’s see if they come back for him now.
