Many will have seen on social media how engaged Richarlison has been about the Coronavirus situation. On Tuesday, he posted a video of him washing his hands as he sang the song the Toffees fans made for him.

Now the Everton star has given a long interview to Brazilian outlet Lance, and spoke a little about how things have been going for him during the suspension of the Premier League.

He explains he’s been following the situation both in England as in his home country, and urged people to do their best to collaborate.

“Yes, I’ve been following, both in Europe and in Brazil, which also has many confirmed cases. It’s very worrying. A situation that requires everyone to collaborate and do their part so that it normalises quickly and everyone can return to a normal life. It’s time to think about who’s on our side, especially children and the elderly.”

Asked about how things have been in England, Richarlison said: “I think it’s like everywhere else in the world. Everything stopped here and people have stayed at home to avoid contagion. I’m calm about this, doing what the doctors and specialists have instructed. Unfortunately it’s a situation that we need to deal with, it’s a very important health issue and it is time to turn our attention to that.”

Richarlison has confirmed that all training sessions have been suspended, and when asked if players will have their form harmed during the break, he says they try to do their best from home.

“I think that here the players continue to do what is possible at home. That we are going to lose something, due to time, this is inevitable. But this is something much bigger than football. It’s a health issue. We can recover everything else with the return of normal jobs.”

Once again, Richarlison has also been asked about a possible interest from Barcelona. He claims he hasn’t been contacted by the Catalan club so far, and insists he’s focused on the Toffees.

I heard from the press, I don’t know if there was anything concrete. I try not to get involved in these things when I’m playing so I don’t lose focus. I leave it to my agent and the club to decide when something like this comes up. I’m very happy here at Everton and, if one day I leave, I hope it will be for another great club, such as Barcelona. But my head is totally focused on Everton.”
