For the past week or so there’s been a multitude of claims in Italy regarding the future of Sofyan Amrabat.
The 23 year old midfielder is on loan from Clube Brugge to Hellas Verona, with the Italian side having a €3.5m purchase option.
Several clubs have been linked, with West Ham and Tottenham those said to be keen from the Premier League. In Italy it’s Napoli who have been repeatedly pushed forward as the club likeliest to make a serious effort.
Playing this season mainly on the right side of central midfield, he’s previously played as a more central defensive midfielder and also as a right back.
Calciomercato.it have spoken to the player’s agent Mohammed Sinou, who works for the Stellar Group. He’s told them: “Sofyan is a very talented young player, the revelation of Serie A this season and for this reason it is normal that all the top clubs are following him.”
Specifically on Napoli interest, the agent said: “I have an agreement with Sofyan: until January his head will only be at Verona. We will only discuss his future in the next winter market.”
West Ham and Tottenham are credited with an interest once again, with Fiorentina and Inter Milan also added to the mix. It’s thought a sale next summer, after Hellas Verona have used their purchase clause, is the likeliest scenario.
There’s every chance Spurs and the Hammers are included to up the drama, and aid the building hype around the player.
