West Ham United are in the picture to sign AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori this summer.
The centre-back initially joined the Serie A side on loan from Chelsea in January 2021 and his stay there was made permanent later that year. He featured regularly for Milan and there’s interest from West Ham to sign him.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say West Ham are thinking about the 26-year-old to bolster their defence for next season.
Hammers interest in Tomori isn’t new. Last summer, they made contact but weren’t able to proceed with the operation. Julen Lopetegui’s side could bring him back to London in this window, but as of now, they haven’t taken concrete steps.
There’s a ‘return to the flame’ as West Ham have carried out polls for the defender. They have likely contacted the Rossoneri, but the Hammers have come across their ‘firm position’ as the Italian club have no plans to let Tomori leave for less than €40-45m.
Calciomercato state West Ham ‘will hardly be able’ to meet Milan’s request, considering they have already paid over €40m to sign Max Kilman from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
