SportMediaSet report Andre Onana last night had dinner at a restaurant owned by Javier Zanetti, and it’s seen as his goodbye to the ‘Inter world’ before he joins Manchester United.
Zanetti is an Inter Milan legend and has a restaurant in the city, which of course specialises in Argentine food.
Onana was there last night, and it’s being presented as something of a goodbye dinner.
SportMediaSet say agreement has been found at around €55m, and the transfer should be ‘ratified in the next few hours’.
What may be more interesting, apart from also learning of Zanetti’s culinary adventure, is what is said about Onana as a character.
SportMediaSet state that despite being with Inter for just one season, he’s won the hearts and minds of fans. On a squad level, it’s explained that whilst he’ll certainly be missed on the pitch, he may be missed even more off it.
Onana’s ‘charisma and natural leadership skills’ are highlighted, and it sounds like the goalkeeper really found himself a place in the collective Inter heart.
He’s allowed the Serie A club to make a huge capital gain with his move to Manchester United, given he arrived from Ajax as a free agent. That’s essential for their own summer signings, with a chunk likely on its way to Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku.
