Earlier on Friday, we covered an article that suggested a door could open for Tottenham regarding the transfer of Ruslan Malinovskyi.

The Ukraine international was a target for Spurs during the summer transfer window, but a deal with Atalanta was never struck, leaving the player in limbo at a club where he isn’t overly welcome.

Malinovskyi has lost his starting role of late under Gian Piero Gasperini, and a number of articles have suggested that Tottenham could return in January.

Well, if TuttoMercatoWeb’s Marco Conterio is to be believed, that’s exactly what they will be doing, and they will go save the Ukrainian from his misery.

Taking to Twitter, the Italian journalist wrote that the player is a ‘request from Antonio Conte’, who is in ‘total harmony with Fabio Paratici’ about this.

This means that Tottenham ‘will try to take’ Malinovskyi from Atalanta, and while the negotiation with the Serie A side ‘has not started’, it’s expected that both sides will soon talk to each other.

As for Gian Piero Gasperini in all this, it’s made clear the manager doesn’t consider his player as a must keep, meaning an exit wouldn’t overly bother him.

TuttoMercatoWeb also have an article on their website following this, and they add both Conte and Paratici see Malinovskyi as the ‘perfect piece to make Spurs take a further leap in quality’.
