Galatasaray attacker Garry Rodrigues says he’s prepared to remain with the Turkish club despite strong interest from other clubs.
The 27 year old has been linked with Newcastle United after reports earlier this month the Premier League side will table another bid for him.
Futbol Arena have reported on comments Rodrigues made to the Greek press when quizzed about his future with Galatasaray and interest from other clubs: “I hear there are many rumours about other clubs’ interest in me. I want to stay in Galatasaray. I am very happy here.”
“We will play in the Champions League next season and I am totally focused on Galatasaray.”
Last week it was claimed in Turkey that Newcastle United are lining up a bid in the region of €23m for Rodrigues, a similar fee to what Everton paid for Cenk Tosun in January.
The Magpies have been linked with the forward since last summer when there were reports they’d tabled an offer for the winger, and they again tried to sign Rodrigues in the last window.
Newcastle United have continued to monitor the Galatasaray star in the second half of the season and are expected to make a move for the player now the transfer window is open.
Everton and West Ham have also been linked with Rodrigues.
