Earlier on Friday, we noticed a tweet from a Tottenham related account claiming Kicker had reported Son Heung-min had agreed personal terms with Wolfsburg ahead of a potential move back to Germany.
This, of course, intrigued us, so we decided to have a snoop around, but we couldn’t find anything.
Kicker had a few articles relaying what Wolfsburg had to say officially about the transfer, while their printed edition had a small article on the subject, but, again, nothing to do with personal terms.
After a bit more digging, we found it was being relayed from Kicker and a Twitter account called Fussballeck.
They indeed had a tweet about this information, but they most certainly were not quoting Kicker, but a Canada-based journalist working for infosoccer.
Philip Harmeling said that Son had given his OK to Wolfsburg and accepted their contract offer, with both clubs now needing to reach a transfer agreement.

Make of this what you wish, as we have no way of finding out where he got his information from, but it’s just worth pointing out that newspaper names are easily chucked into tweets when being relayed to add more weight to a story.
