Hours before Monaco kick-off one of the biggest games of their season, it appears news has filtered through that one of their starlets could be on the move in the summer.
While the likes of Tiemoué Bakayoko and Bernardo Silva are all expected to leave, Kylian Mbappé was not, even if Manchester United, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, attempted to convince the Ligue 1 side otherwise with an €85m offer, to no avail.
Sky Sports in England refuted these claims, but Le10 Sport in France reckon that won’t stop the young prodigy to maybe look elsewhere once the transfer window opens at the end of the season.
The French website reveal on the Ligue 1 leaders are starting to realise it could be very difficult to hold onto the 18-year-old beyond this summer, with Mbappé expressing his desire to leave.
Of course, in order for this to happen, Monaco would need to receive a bid that matches their value of the player, which is believed to be somewhere around €120-130m.
As well as José Mourinho’s side, Manchester City and Real Madrid are said to be interested in testing Monaco’s resolve in the coming months.
Whether Manchester United actually need someone like Mbappé is a different matter altogether, but if Di Marzio’s claims ring true, they certainly want him.
There have already been multiple claims of big Manchester United offers for Mbappé, which AS Monaco denying having received anything. This one feels like it’s going to have everything remotely plausible claimed between now and the summer.
