Fotomac report Besiktas are targeting Caykur Rizespor goalkeeper Gokhan Akkan, as they look to replace Liverpool loanee Loris Karius at the end of the season.

The German goalkeeper is likely to leave the Black Eagles when his loan contract expires in June.

According to Fotomac, the Besiktas board are now happy to keep Karius until next summer as they don’t think it will be beneficial to replace him halfway through the season. Initial claims from the Turkish media said they wanted to send him back to Liverpool in January.

After another difficult start to the season, the 26 year old has put together a series of good performances for Besiktas and the Turkish side climbed up to 8th in the Super Lig.

Despite showing some form in recent weeks, Karius isn’t expected to be with Besiktas next season and Akkan looks to be an option to replace. Fulham’s Fabri has also been linked with a move to the Istanbul club.

Karius has played 12 games for Besiktas in all competitions, keeping four clean sheets. His Liverpool contract will expire at the end of June 2021, but it seems he doesn’t have a future at Anfield.
