Remontada is the word of the day for Marca.
It’s means comeback, and there’s renewed confidence that Real Madrid can travel to Manchester City, overcome the one goal difference, and knock Pep Guardiola’s club out of the Champions League.
The front page of Tuesday’s edition of the Spanish newspaper shouts: ‘Why not believe in the comeback?’
El Clasico has provided the ‘vitamin’ needed.
Beating Barcelona 2-0 at the weekend has has lifted the clouds around Real Madrid and made Marca believe that knocking City out is a realistic prospect.
To do so, it’s explained there needs to be a positive feeling around the club, and it would be assumed that suggestion also extends to the media. From doom and gloom, and dreading a defeat to Barcelona to add to the City woes, everything has changed.
In hindsight, given that they won, there was no better weekend opponent for Real Madrid than Barcelona.
So now March 17th is in sight, with Manchester City being eyed up for a Remontada which would in turn give Madrid even more of a boost going into the final months of their title campaign.
Watch out Pep.
