Amid the links between Real Betis and Aston Villa fullback Álex Moreno, we now get to see a funny story coming from the Spanish media.

Estadio Deportivo today reports that Manu Fajardo, who’s the sporting director for the La Liga side, met the player at the Rinconero airport on Monday.

The duo are pictured waiting for their luggage, and it seems the website is completely right in saying that it was just a coincidence, despite their ‘lively conversation’.

It’s added, however, that Betis continue in the search for a left-back and Moreno is one of the players on their list.

The positive news about that possibility is that Aston Villa are signing Ian Maatsen and are expected to let another fullback leave this summer.

However, it’s also claimed that the English club, who paid over €13m to sign Moreno, don’t want to loose too much money now, so Betis would need to make a big effort to bring him back.

It’s made clear that there are no advanced negotiations for now, and this coincidental meeting probably won’t have changed much.
