Liverpool have made it clear to Napoli that defender Kostas Tsimikas will not be leaving the club this summer.

That’s according to Il Mattino, who say that the Italian side’s move for the Greek full-back is over before it has really begun as he ‘remains in Liverpool’

Napoli have been linked with Tsimikas over the last few weeks, with them determined to solve a longstanding issue at left-back this summer.

At first, it appeared Liverpool were not keen to let him go, but it was felt that stance was softening of late, so much so that a move appeared possible.

It seems that was not the case, though, with Il Mattino stating that Napoli’s attempt ‘risks ending before it even begins’.

They say that Tsimikas is staying at Liverpool, with multiple clubs having ‘knocked on the Reds door’ for the defender in recent weeks, with Jurgen Klopp sending them all packing with short and sweet refusals.

A disappointing campaign last season, particularly for Tsimikas after his summer arrival, has not changed their mind, and they intend to keep him as competition for Andy Robertson.

That, then, should put an end to this transfer rumour, with Liverpool very clearly not interested in doing business.
