Reliable journalist says Leeds United player could land himself new contract

 

BBC journalist Adam Pope has claimed Leeds United have an obligation to extend the contract of summer signing Rob Green if he plays a set amount of games. Only last week Leeds United new signing Pontus Jansson confirmed the club must make his move permanent if he makes the required number of appearances for the Championship side.

Pope has confirmed via social media that Green is enjoying life at Leeds United following his move from Queens Park Rangers in the last transfer window. The former England international has played in all of Leeds United’s opening seven league games including the 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday.

It seems Garry Monk sees Green as his No.1 for the season, which is likely get to land the 36-year-old an extension to his current deal.

Last week we covered comments from Green’s Leeds United teammate Jansson who said he will join the club permanently if he plays 20 games for them this season.

Jansson showed his intention to remain in Monk’s starting line-up with an impressive performance against Blackburn Rovers, and like Green he could be rewarded at the end of the season with a new contract.
