Palermo have joined the race to sign Ternana forward Felipe Avenatti in the summer transfer window. The Uruguayan will soon become a free agent, and the 24-year-old has repeatedly been linked with a move to Leeds United.
Tutto Palermo have exclusively claimed Avenatti is a target for Palermo as they look to bounce back to Serie A. The Sicilian side were relegated from the top flight a few weeks ago, and the club’s new owners will be looking to put together a squad capable of promotion.
Palermo are looking to bolster their attacking options, and it’s been claimed Avenatti is a prime target. However, Avenatti has doubts about remaining in Serie B, and would need to be convinced.
Leeds United could be one of the clubs looking to snap the player up after their previous attempts to sign him. Garry Monk’s club made an approach for Avenatti in the last summer window, but were unsuccessful.
Leeds United could look to add a forward or two to their squad in the next window, and landing Avenatti on a free could still appeal to the Championship side.
