Despite all the rumours sending Pierre-Emile Højbjerg away from Tottenham over the past few months, the Denmark international is not going to be leaving the club in January.
That’s according to Florian Plettenberg, who took to X, formerly Twitter, to post the latest update on the midfielder.
The journalist gets straight to the point, as he explains that the midfielder has decided, ‘after new talks this morning’, that he would be staying at Tottenham.
In fact, ‘he rejected all offers’ to be able to continue what has been a promising campaign for his club, even if he has had to make do with a more rotational role under Ange Postecoglou than with his predecessors.
The Tottenham player’s agent gave a few quotes to the Sky Germany reporter, who relayed them to his followers.
Lars Walgreen said: “Despite rumours and noise, the player always kept focus on helping the team, coaches and Tottenham. The player never asked to leave now. He’s very ambitious with Tottenham and Denmark. Continuing to keep improving himself, like he did all his career.
“He’s a strong character and player, his only focus with Tottenham is to finish the season well and to help as much as possible. Pierre always liked challenges.”
Højbjerg, who was a regular under previous managers, has played a lot less from the off this season, despite making 20 Premier League appearances during which he has played 820 minutes of football, with three cups appearances on top of that.
