Just last week, we covered Reinier’s good start with Flamengo, with him proving Everton’s interest in him was pretty valid.

The Toffees were heavily linked with the wonderkid in the summer, first with claims saying there was a deal to sign him, and then others claiming it was just a bid rejected.

Now the 17-year-old is showing the hype was worth it, since he’s been managing to impress even in a team full of stars.

According to journalist Jorge Nicola, a meeting today should confirm his stay at the club. The player is set to sign a contract which would run until 2024, and Flamengo want to raise the €70m release clause.

Nicola writes once again that Everton offered €30m to sign the player in the summer, but the bid wasn’t even considered by Flamengo, who thought it to be too low.

Now it seems that, in fact, Reinier will only leave Rio de Janeiro for much more.
