Jean-Clair Todibo joined West Ham from Nice in the summer transfer window and the move came after Juventus missed out on the Frenchman.
The Turin club repeatedly tried to sign the defender on the cheap, believing he wouldn’t agree to go elsewhere. That plan was ruined when Todibo accepted a move to West Ham and Nice accepted a Hammers offer.
Since his arrival at the London Stadium, the defender has struggled to make an impact. He started the season slow and while he has featured in the last three Premier League games, he has not established himself as an undisputed regular.
There was recently a suggestion of the player having a bad relationship with manager Julen Lopetegui, amidst talk of fitness issues, but that was dismissed by the player’s agent.
There is now an indication from Italy that Todibo isn’t settled at West Ham and is already looking at other options.
Agent and intermediary Vincenzo Morabito spoke to Kiss Kiss Napoli about the Frenchman and claimed that Todibo is flirting with Juve once again.
He said, as relayed by TuttoNapoli: “For the moment Juventus have only a limited number of defenders. Todibo is sending messages to Juve, he regretted going to West Ham, but I think [Juve sporting director] Giuntoli is unlikely to go for players who have said no to him.
“This morning I spoke to the director of West Ham who told me that Todibo will leave, they spent €190 million there.”
It seems clear from Morabito’s comments that Juve will not come back for the 25-year-old this month. However, as was the situation prior to the transfer in the first place, there’s obviously a chance of Italian media bias here.
