Tottenham’s insistence that they include a ‘redemption obligation’ in a deal for Japhet Tanganga is holding up a potential move to AC Milan.
That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say Milan are not keen on the price that Spurs are negotiating at.
They explain that the Italian champions are looking for a reliable player at a low cost, probably on loan.
They want competition for Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori, with doubts remaining over Simon Kjaer’s availability as he battles back from surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
He needs time to recover from that fully and so Milan are looking at their options, with Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga one of them.
Several reports over the last few weeks have made it clear the Spurs man is keen on the move, indeed some have said he is holding out for it, but it hasn’t come about as yet.
It seems that is because of Tottenham’s stance, with Gazzetta explaining that they are ‘still demanding’ that there be a ‘redemption obligation’ included in the deal.
They seemingly want Milan to be tied into buying Tanganga at the end of the loan and while Milan are open to that idea, the current price is one the Italian side ‘do not want to pay’.
Thus the two clubs need to work out an agreement on that front for the transfer to take place, or Milan may simply turn their attention elsewhere.
