Struggling under Beppe Iachini, there were questions surrounding Patrick Cutrone’s future at Fiorentina.
The Italian is currently on a one and a half year loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the Italian side forced to buy him for a fee of around €15-16m if he makes a pre-agreed number of appearances.
While he has played in every Fiorentina game so far, the striker has yet to start one, which could change under new manager Cesare Prandelli.
Gazzetta dello Sport explain the Wolves loanee, relegated to the bench with Iachini, ‘had begun to consider the possibility of a change of scenery in the winter market’, but the latest development means he now ‘restarts at 100km/h’.
Furthermore, a meeting between Joe Barone, Prandelli and director of football Daniele Pradè led to them ‘ignoring’ the fact there is a set number of games before Cutrone is bought, meaning ‘the new manager will be able to make him the starter whenever he wants’.
That’s because Fiorentina ‘have estimated that paying €15-16m to make the move permanent is still an excellent operation’, given the price of Italian and European strikers these days.
All around good news for Wolverhampton Wanderers, who may have been sweating a bit after their striker’s relatively mediocre start to the campaign.
Now, to see if Prandelli gets the best out of him and manages to guarantee that €15m to Nuno Espírito Santo’s side
