Among the stories the Portuguese media has today about Liverpool’s chase for Ruben Amorim, newspaper A Bola comes up with something quite interesting.
The outlet says ‘it’s really happening’, with the Reds actually trying to take the manager from the Lions, as they see him as a ‘solution’ to replace Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool are said to be in direct contact with Amorim’s agent Raul Costa. It’s said the Anfield side have been very discreet in this whole process.
A Bola even managed to get a little message from a source from the Reds who described the situation, claiming Amorim is not the only candidate for the job.
‘The information does not correspond to the truth. The club is conducting a robust process of rigorous research into viable candidates. It is important to clarify that the suggestion that there is a preferred candidate is totally inaccurate.’
WIth Amorim committed to winning the league title with Sporting, it’s said that’s one more reason for Liverpool to keep a correct stance, especially because they already know that the coach liked what he heard about the possibility of the move.
The newspaper also claims that even though Amorim is protected by a €20m release clause, that may only be demanded by Sporting in case the Reds’ attempt becomes ‘hostile’, which is not the case so far.
However, we can’t see them giving up €20m so easily.
