Manchester United have been told that rumoured target Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez is “really going to be a top player.”
That’s according to journalist Wim Kieft, who believes the Mexican forward is set for a bright future in the game after his displays this year.
Gimenez has been impressing for Feyenoord this season, with a tally of 18 goals in 37 games in all competitions to date.
He’s been a key part of the Dutch sides successes so far and that has earned him plenty of attention and interest from around Europe.
Manchester United were brought into the picture today, with a report from the striker’s native Mexico stating that Erik ten Hag’s side have already been in contact about a potential move to Old Trafford this summer.
They’re on the hunt for reinforcements this summer after letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave before the World.
They did bring in Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley in the January transfer window but there is no indication he will be the long-term solution to their goalscoring needs.
Whether Gimenez is that man is up for debate, but journalist Wim Kieft insists Manchester United would be getting a top player in the making, with Dick Advocaat insisting he will be sold if a bid is made.
“Anyone who knows about football could see that this was a very good player. He is just really going to be a top player,” FR Fans report Kieft saying.
“Feyenoord obviously need money as well, so if they can sell him well, he will really go out,” added Advocaat.
