With Zinedine Zidane back at the helm, a lot of transfer stories involving Real Madrid that appeared in May/June of 2018 are set to reappear in the coming months.
Among those is that of his interest in Liverpool’s Sadio Mané, first brought to everyone’s attention by France Football, who bring it back from the dead on Monday.
According to the French magazine, the Reds forward was expected to be Zidane’s first signing last summer, only for the former France international’s resignation to scupper the deal, as both Julen Lopetegui and Florentino Pérez put an end to it.
However, Zidane’s mind hasn’t changed, and he remains interested in the Liverpool man, whom he would like to manage next season as Real Madrid prepare a big clear out in the summer.
How much the Senegalese star would cost isn’t mentioned, but considering his ability to both score and create goals, he would certainly be very expensive.
We doubt Jürgen Klopp or the Liverpool board would let him go of their own volition, meaning it might be up to Mané himself to force a move should he want to team up with Zidane in Spain.
Guess we’ll have to wait and see i the coming months.
