Marca report on Monday afternoon that claims from the English media of a possible double Real Madrid deal for Thibaut Courtois and Willian are incorrect.

A joint offer of £100m was said to have been made by the Spanish club, and the Daily Mail said sources had told them it was being ‘seriously considered’ by those in charge at Chelsea.

That’s now been trodden all over by Marca, who report not only have Real Madrid made it clear there’s been no such joint offer submitted, but they have no interest in signing Willian anyway.

Whilst interest in Courtois ‘remains firm’ and Real Madrid hope to be able to close a deal for €30-35m, the Brazilian winger is simply not on the club’s radar.

Marca explain that players such as Eden Hazard and Mauro Icardi continue to be pushed towards the Bernabeu but there’s currently no intention to spend the well over €100m that either transfer would cost.
