Saturday’s back page of Marca has an article on Real Madrid’s interest in Erling Braut Haaland.

The Borussia Dortmund player is thought to be in pole position as the Spanish club consider signing a new forward in the future. That he’ll have a buyout clause in his contract, which isn’t thought to be applicable during the summer, is a boost.

So is that he’s represented by Mino Raiola, with Marca explaining there’s currently good relations between Madrid and the agent.

There’s a reason for that, and it’s Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

For a long time it’s felt like the Frenchman would quite fancy a move to Madrid, and there’s been claims of interest from the Spanish side. However, those claims, at least the strong ones, haven’t been coming from the media closest to Madrid recently, and that’s the slant Marca take.

The Spanish newspaper explain contacts are good between Mino Raiola and Real Madrid, because Los Blancos have informed the agent they have no plans to sign Pogba.

Whilst that won’t have been what Raiola wanted to hear about the Manchester United player, it’s kept a line of communication open which could benefit Haaland.

As for Pogba, if he wishes to leave Old Trafford this summer, his options are limited.
