It would be no surprise if a move to Real Madrid is the transfer Thibaut Courtois craves above any other.
Not only are Madrid one of the biggest clubs on the planet, but the city is also where his children live and the Chelsea goalkeeper has made no secret of wishing to be closer to them, which is completely understandable.
That’s probably got a lot to do with Courtois refusing to renew at Chelsea and now the club know they’re in a delicate situation because the Belgian international could leave for free in less than a year.
El Confidencial report Real Madrid are keen to sign the goalkeeper, and have already made more than one offer.
The first bid was €30m, which Chelsea presumably laughed off. Then Madrid put forward €35m plus a further €10m in bonuses, but it was again knocked back.
Chelsea are said to want €50m and that’s their ‘take it or leave it’ counter proposal, there will be no negotiation on transfer fee.
Now it’s over to Real Madrid to decide how much they really want to sign Thibaut Courtois this summer.
