Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard was left ‘annoyed’ by his side drawing Liverpool in the Champions League this week.
That’s according to Defensa Central, who say the Belgian, who is likely to miss both legs, would have seen the game as the perfect opportunity to kickstart his career.
Hazard has again been beset by injuries this season, meaning he has managed just 14 appearances and 646 minutes of football this season.
It has seen him continue to be labelled a flop, having managed just 22 appearances and one goal for the club last season.
He is currently sidelined with a muscle complaint which is believed to be linked to long-standing ankle injuries, and could see him miss both legs of Real Madrid’s upcoming clash with Liverpool in the Champions League.
That’s left him ‘annoyed’ by the draw itself, say DC, who report that the Belgian was ‘very angry’ to see Liverpool pulled out as Madrid’s opponents.
That’s because they are a ‘special’ rival that he would liked to face, and he believes that this game could have been ‘his’ match.
Hazard knows Liverpool well from his time at Chelsea; indeed, he considers him one of his ‘great enemies’ from his time in London and would have enjoyed the chance to face them again and potentially kick-start his career with Spanish giants.
Instead, he will be forced to sit and watch from the sidelines, with his only chance of facing the Reds in the second leg, although that is a slim possibility at this point.
